To help businesses make conscious and active implementation of appropriate methods for managing, building, exploiting, protecting and developing the intellectual property in Can Tho in the period November 20^th, 2009 to March 20^th, 2010.

The author has carried out investigations, evaluation of the situation and requests to hold and manage intellectual property in the enterprises in the area of Can Tho City.

The survey results indicated that businesses in the area of Can Tho City have reserved one or more objects of intellectual property right .Enterprise intellectual property protection concentrated in Ninh Kieu and Binh Thuy district with two kinds of limited companies and private companies. Manufacturing sector is mainly commercial enterprises and services, being tiny, small and medium enterprises. Most companies are interested in registering for protection, intellectual property objects are protected mainly trademarks. Once businesses have intellectual property protection is less disputes occurrence. If  disputes occur, 50% of businesses choose form solution through state agencies. Besides, enterprises are also very interested in the movement of technical innovations, innovation in the enterprise (66%). Technology transfer is a form of business communication that the most enterprises sign to participate. Development of intellectual property, expansion of the domestic market is the way many businesses are most applicable (42/88 enterprises).
