Consultation Meeting on Restructuring of Agriculture

The agricultural sector of Vietnam is now playing a particularly important role in ensuring food security, creating jobs and income for 70% of the population of the country, and is a decisive factor for poverty reduction and contribution to national economic development as well as social and political stability
|
The sector has created remarkable achievements, but also showed some weaknesses such as producing substantial quantity of cheap and low value products, ineffective use use of land and natural resources. To improve quality, greater added value and sustainable development, the "Agricultural Restructure" is being proposed. During process to develop the restructure paper, it will provide opportunities to review the roles of the agriculture sector as well as to review the driving forces, strengths and weakness of the sector for the ARD vision and development strategy.
The policy consultation on restructuring of agriculture sector will be held to receive comments, recommendations, and contributions from various stakeholders. You are honorably invited to participate in the Consultation Meeting on Restructuring of Agriculture sector from development partners, NOOs and associations, which will be held on:
The objective of this Meeting is to provide:
- Comments on the Restructuring orientations;
- Recommendations for policy framework, intervention and mechanism for implementation of the restructuring orientations; especially in 1) Social financial mobilization policy; 2) Public investment priority; 3) Agriculture market development and distribution channel; 4) Restructure of SOEs; 5) Inclusive ofpro-poor rural people, and 6) Others.
