Exciting in brand concession
A wave of international brands are on the Vietnam market through concession to partners, and the 2012 forecasts in the industry will continue to be a busy year of this business form.


U.S. ice cream Company Baskin-Robbins marks return to Vietnam market in late 2011 with an impressive record: only 10 of opening day were sold out the import of ice cream intended to be sold in four months at the three stores.

This, makes the company confident in their goals in opening six ice cream shops this year, and by 2015, "committed to open at least 31 stores," said Nguyen Thanh Nam, General Director of Company the Blue Star Foods, concession to partner of Baskin-Robbins in Vietnam.

Baskin-Robbin came to Vietnam in 1994, brought in the country by overseas Vietnamese, but by that time the import tax of 70% so that business have no profit and has to be withdrawn.

The market was also not in high demand that makes KFC, Kentucky Fried Chicken brand to Vietnam in 1997 suffered seven consecutive losses years. Experts said the size of Vietnam's market is growing, and the big names in the world are trying to Vietnam, making the market more open. Moreover, consumer demand is also changing; from which many call a "thirst-class brand".
According to a study, in 5 years concession market development  is massive, and most of the food industry, such as eating fast food, sandwiches, pizza, coffee, ice cream ... with names like Goloria Jeans Coffees, Lee's Sandwiches, Jollibee, BBQ, Pizza Hut, Bud ... San Francisco

Another variable is widely rumored that McDonald is said to find their way into Vietnam, but Fast Food Company also has yet found partners. According to experts, partners must meet the elements of financial capacity, market expertise, and extensive relationships, and influential.

According to Beth Solomon, vice president of the International Franchise Association, based in Washington (USA), the U.S. business community interested in Vietnam because the right market, young people and enjoy the new changes.
In late 2011, she led a delegation of 10 companies with 18 brands in the food industry to Vietnam to seek partners. In 2012, she will continue to lead business delegations in the field of education, retail, health care continues to Vietnam.
