The event will form part of Viet Nam reiterating its commitment to pursue green growth and sustainable development.
Speaking at the press briefing today, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Bui Cach Tuyen said the country is developing a green growth strategy for 2011-20 and that many challenges lay ahead, including limited resources.
He said the next step would entail preparing relevant policies and mechanisms to ensure the effective implementation of such strategy.
A series of events will be held in Quang Ninh on June 4-5 including a green economy forum and a national commemoration event with the participation of 3,000 people.
