Health system to control the driver driving
One crucial aspect of traffic safety is the driver's health. Scientists at the Technical University Munich (TUM), Germany in collaboration with the BMW researchers have fabricated sensor system integrated into the steering wheel to observe the health status of the driver while driving.

At the same time, new devices are also used to identify the status fainting or heart attack. This system is observing signs of life such as heart rate, skin and transmission of blood oxygen saturation due to simple sensors in the steering wheel. Data collected are transmitted by radio to the microcontroller, display the results on-screen information system of the vehicle. For example, the transmission of the skin of a driver showed that whether any great pressure or blood pressure beyond normal limits or not

To obtain data, the driver's hands are exposed to the sensor mounted in the steering wheel. In the initial testing, the sensor provides data for 4/5 time driving. More than half of participants have been interested in testing the system to conduct repeated tests. When that pressure is detected through the value of the conductivity of the skin, then the call can be intercepted or volume of the radio will automatically turn off. When there are more serious problems, the system can turn on hazard warning lights, reduce speed or even push the emergency brake automatically.
