Dr. Le Quoc Vietnamese community groups and the Department of Fisheries Can Tho University has successfully researched processes for artificial breeding, hatching and rearing of fish fry to mature parents from self-selected nature

Accordingly, the mother fish is weight of 250g, the 300,000 egg laying, hatching rate of about 50%. The babies grow rapidly, reaching sizes from 1.1 to 1.3 cm, and the survival rate 20-40% after three weeks of age. Currently the team is continuing research to improve the survival rate of fish, in order to complete the application process for mass production of seeds, development of fish farming in the Mekong Delta.
Mullet have economic value, delicious meat, highly favored people. However, the development of fish farming is difficult due to a lack of fish. |
