Currently seeking funding on Indiegogo, the diapers take advantage of the health information that can be detected in urine, including urinary tract infections, dehydration and emerging kidney problems. Each diaper is equipped with a QR code surrounded by strips that change color in response to the chemical make-up of the urine. Once the strips have been adequately ‘wetted’, the parent can scan the code with a smartphone and access an app that identifies any possible health conditions.
