Mr. Nguyen Huu Dung – Vice president of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) said, the consumers in the world tend to seek for where foods are produced and their transportation process. Therefore, requirement of goods information is really necessary, especially in EU, Japan, US market.

Besides, many experts believed that manual traceability is a waste of time, potential risk of catching fire and wood worms as information storage is in paper form. In addition, information should be stored from 6 to 24 months which lead to overload storage area.

The electric traceability project will support agricultural enterprises from 10/2012 to the late 2014 with free charges. The project’s goal aims to improve approaches of Viet Nam exporters with test service spots of the electric traceability; promoting and raising awareness of relevant units (DARD, processing factories, farms); developing two new markets.
