Artificial reproduction yellow catfish

An engineer, Pham Thanh Dung and his colleagues at the Center for the Advancement of Applied Science and Technology Long An successfully created an artificial reproductive yellow catfish.

The team has just produced the first batch yellow catfish in May 2013 with a number of 30 kg of fish female, using the HCG hormones + pituitary gland to stimulate breeding.
The results were very positive: the female participation rate is 95% fertility, the number of eggs collected over 2.2 kg, the relative fecundity of 42,000 eggs / kg female, 67% of fertilized eggs, 6%, 85% hatching rate, the rate of 87% to live fry.
The successful reproduction of yellow catfish will help farmers having more new species, bringing greater economic efficiency and contribute to the diversification of animal species, and also being important implications in the protection of aquatic resources, maintaining the same source to avoid extinction. |
