Collective trademark of "Minh Hoa honey"

Minh Hoa is famous for its products and preparations from the forest, including honey products which have been certificated collective mark by National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam (Ministry of Science and Technology). This trademark is protected for 10 years.

"Minh Hoa honey" is produced by Beekeeper Association of Minh Hoa district. At present, there are more than 152 households raising bees with over 13,000 bees, mainly domestic bees. Honey harvest usually starts from March of lunar year, yields from 130-150 tons of honey, bringing the average income from 120 to 200 million VND per year per household. The most beekeeping communes are Xuan Hoa, Trung Hoa, Yen Hoa and Hong Hoa. In addition, people also exploit natural forest honey with large yields.
Minh Hoa is a mountainous district of Quang Binh, 89 km bordered by Laos. This is a poor and difficult district of the province, where many ethnic groups live, such as Kinh, Bru - Van Kieu and Chut. Minh Hoa was also known as the "resistance capital" of Can Vuong movement led by Ham Nghi, leader combated French colonialists (from October 1885 to November 1888). |
