Comparison of epidural analgesia efficacy with ropivacaine with bupivacaine combined fentanyl for pain relief in labor at Can Tho obstetrics and gynecology hospital was implemented by coauthor Huynh Cong Tram and Phan Quoc Thanh.

Epidural anesthesia for pain relief in labor is widely used around the world for years. The results of several studies show that this method better pain relief, less impact on the process of labor and neonatal status. In Vietnam, no more work with Ropivacaine.

To compare the effectiveness and side effects of the method of epidural anesthesia with ropivacaine with bupivacaine coordinate fentanyl for pain during labor in the maternity hospital in Can Tho City. Prospective, cross-sectional analysis, a control group.

Results showed that the average age in the study: 26.3 ± 6.7 years old R group, 25.6 ± 5.6 B group. After 4h VAS in group B group R 1.2 is 1.3. Side effects: nausea, vomiting, 17.4% in group B group R is 21.7%, chills in the group R is 4.3% in the group B was 8.7%, Cold shivering  in group R 4,3% in group B was 4.3%. The results showed that the method of epidural anesthesia with jopivacaine continuous effective coordination analgesic fentanyl labor well, no ¿complications and serious complications for both mother and fetus.
