Ensure food safety of street foods
On September 18, 2017, at the Can Tho City Department of Health, Can Tho City inter-department Steering Committee of Food Safety Hygiene organized a workshop of "Street food safety". Attending the workshop, there were representatives of health centers, district health stations, market management boards and street food business households, representatives of newspapers in Can Tho city.


The workshop focused on issues, such as the current status of street food business and solutions; food safety management of street food in some districts as well as some communes / wards; management of environmental sanitation and food safety for the market model.

At the workshop, some street food businesses households raised the street food business difficulty with the difficulty of meeting the requirements of food safety hygiene.

Street food is always attractive to consumers because of the convenience, speed and reasonable price, but there are potential risks of unsafe food hygiene, affecting the health of consumers. Therefore, functional sectors should strengthen the management, inspection and supervision of business establishments to ensure food safety; at the same time, consumers also need to equip themselves with knowledge of food safety, boycotting the street food store does not guarantee conditions. Inform the management agency to timely detect and handle non-conformities to ensure that food safety conditions in order to protect their health and the community.
