Attending the workshop, there were researchers, experts and managers from institutes, schools, agencies and representatives of domestic and foreign enterprises.

The workshop is part of the project "Development of Sustainable shrimp production chains in Vietnam (SusV)" funded by the European Union. Under this project, Oxfam and ICAFIS collaborated with the Policy Research Institute under state bank to conduct a study on the current status and potential for loan development in the shrimp value chains in three provinces of Soc Trang, Bac Lieu and Ca Blood.

Thence, the research team has proposed solutions for legal framework, financial institutions, roles and responsibilities of enterprises and related parties, including research institutes and professional organizations, industries and local authorities to promote the development of equitable and sustainable shrimp value chains. At the same time, the construction of a set of criteria for shrimp value chains and consultant organization to agree on the implementation.
