At the conference, many opinions appreciated the role of S & T information and statistics for the socio-economic development of the country. Especially, S & T statistical information has become an indispensable resource in an information society.

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Quoc Khanh said that S & T information is really the basic infrastructure for national innovation, one of the key tasks in the MOST Action Plan. This is the Resolution No. 01 / NQ-CP dated 1/1/2017 by Government on the major tasks and solutions to direct the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and the state budget estimation 2017 issued in conjunction with Decision No. 07 / QĐ-BKHCN dated January 9, 2017 of the Minister of Science and Technology.
