Deputy Director of the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam Le Ngoc Lam delivered the opening speech at the workshop.
Attending the workshop, there were Ambassador of the Republic of Italy in Hanoi Cecilia Piccioni, Rector of the National Economics University, Professor, Dr. Tran Tho Dat, Deputy Director of the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam Le Ngoc Lam and more than 80 delegates from international organizations, management agencies, academia, universities, science and technology departments, associations and enterprises.
The workshop focused on three main topics, such as geographical indications in Vietnam and Italy and geographic indications in EVFTA; the role of science and technology in the protection of geographical indications; the contribution of geographical indications in promoting the local economy.
Present at the workshop, there were experts from the Delegation of the European Union, Embassy of Italy, National Office of Intellectual Property, lecturer of Hanoi University of Technology, National Economics University, representatives of Prosecco Wine Association, Parma Cold Meat Association, Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association, Phu Quoc Fish Sauce Association.
Through the workshop, managers, associations, enterprises, manufacturers, processors and traders in the field of geographical indications of Vietnam partly understood more about the geographical indications of Italy and the Italian experiences in the protection, management and development of products bearing geographical indications and the implications and contributions of geographical indications for rural economy, agriculture and food industries in Italy and Vietnam. |
