On February 23 in Hanoi, the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam worked with a team of experts from the Korea Patent Promotion Association (KIPA) within the framework of the project "Building symbol of national geographical indications."

At the meeting, leaders of the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam proposed KIPA to support the construction of a national geographical indication symbol to help consumers identify the origin of products bearing geographical indications, as a means of support for managers in the management, monitoring and traceability of products. This is also a tool to promote and commercialize products bearing geographical indications of Vietnam in the international market.

There are currently 63 Vietnamese products protected by geographical indications. To strengthen coordination in this work, on August 8, 2018, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade signed a Regulation on coordination on construction and management of geographical indications.
