Attending the workshop, on the US side, there were experts from the US Nuclear Security Office (INS), Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. On the Vietnamese side, there were representatives of the Ministry of Public Security, Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute, Nuclear Research Institute, Institute of Rare Radiation Technology, Nuclear Science and Technology Institute, Hanoi Irradiation Center, NDE and VARANS Center.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Deputy Director Duong Quoc Hung said that for many years, the good cooperation between VARANS and the National Nuclear Security Agency (NNSA) and the US Department of Energy on the strong development through cooperation activities regularly organizes workshops, training courses to share knowledge and experiences, thereby helping to promote the implementation of nuclear security and radioactive sources in Viet Nam.
