Vietnam - China: Implementing projects on innovation, application and protection of intellectual property

In order to further enhance exchanges and cooperation in the field of intellectual property (IP), on June 14, 2019, in Hanoi, the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam and the National Office of Intellectual Property of China (CNIPA) signed the Bilateral Cooperation Memorandum - a legal basis for the two Agencies to promote projects and mutually beneficial cooperation activities related to IP innovation, application, protection and management.

The Memorandum of Understanding between the two Agencies aims to create a foundation for cooperation and development in the field of IP, sharing experiences in developing and implementing national IP strategies, IP laws and policies of the two countries, as well as other issues of mutual concern about IP; sharing practical experiences and cooperation in appraisal and authorization; Training and developing human resources; mobilize capital with intellectual property and information services to facilitate the use of intellectual property; information technology development and application; exchanging documents and data related to inventions, industrial designs and cooperation in developing resources; raise public awareness about IP.
This Memorandum of Understanding will replace the Memorandum of Understanding signed on October 19, 2017 between the two Agencies with the expansion of cooperation to trademarks and geographical indications after CNIPA receives these two additional functions in 2018. |
