Bringing Vietnamese startups closer to the international

Techfest Vietnam 2019 started its first day in Silicon Valley, USA on September 13 with 200 intellectuals, experts, investors and important representatives of the innovation startup ecosystem.

This is the last stop of the working journey in the US led by Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Van Tung. Previously, from September 6 to September 13 in Boston and San Francisco, the delegation worked with many important partners in the ecosystem to connect international networks for Vietnamese startups.

In addition to the participation of leaders of Departments, and Branches of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnamese startups also participated in the presentation of the business model to the whole audience and connected 1-1 investments at the event with large investment funds, such as 500 Startups, Pegasus Tech Venture, Highland Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia, Dragon Fly, Neo Global Capital and etc.

In which, six startup representatives are selected across the country to participate, including Abivin - a startup that has surpassed 40 countries in the world to win the 2019 World Cup Startup, startups from Top 10 Techfest Vietnam 2018, such as Ecomeasy Asia, Tubudd, businesses winning competitions across the country, such as Gostream, Go Amazing and etc.

At the event, Vietnamese Consul General in San Francisco Nguyen Trac Toan shared the opportunity for Vietnamese startup in Silicon Valley: “The reality shows that no success will come easily to us and will be no breakthroughs if there is no risk.

San Francisco is home to the largest global venture capital fund. I hope the Venture Funds present today will be interested and find their investment opportunities in startups from Vietnam. ”
