Vietnam has the first plasma technology research institute
With the goal of researching and applying cold plasma technology in various fields of life, the first Plasma Technology Research Institute of Vietnam was established.

The Plasma Technology Research Institute (ARIPT) was officially established on April 22, 2020 under the Certificate of scientific and technological activity registration No. C-05/2020 / DK-KH & CN issued by the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology.

The establishment of ARIPT marks the first time Vietnam has a scientific and technological organization conducting in-depth research on the applications of Plasma technology.

Plasma is the fourth state of matter (in addition to three common matters, such as solid, liquid and gas), in which substances are strongly ionized. Although not common on Earth, over 99% of the matter seen in the universe exists as a plasma.

According to thermodynamic properties, there are two types, such as thermal plasma, which is formed at high temperature, pressure and energy, and cold plasma is formed at normal or vacuum pressure, less energy.

For more than 10 years, advanced countries around the world have focused resources on Plasma application research in areas, such as biomedical, chemical, agriculture, or industry.

Plasma technology, especially cold plasma technology, is evaluated to be able to overcome the limits that other technologies are difficult to achieve with the ultimate goal of reducing production costs, increasing energy efficiency, reducing negative impact on the environment.

ARIPT's leadership team consists of Dr. Nguyen The Anh - Director and PhD. Do Hoang Tung - Deputy Director in charge of expertise. These are the two scientists who made their mark thanks to the introduction of plasma technology in the treatment of open wounds in Vietnam. Both are working at the Institute of Physics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.
