Hanoi will become Southeast Asia's innovation center
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Hanoi Party Committee Secretary Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that Hanoi is a big center of science and technology, with the goal of building Hanoi capital into a center for scientific research by 2025. Leading technology development and innovation of the whole country, proceeding to be the leading science and technology center of Southeast Asia in a number of areas.

On July 14, 2020, Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee chaired the meeting with the Party Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology (S&T) and the Hanoi City Party Committee on the results of S&T activities of Hanoi City in the past time; directions and tasks of S&T development in the coming time. Attending the meeting were comrades: Chu Ngoc Anh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Affairs Committee, Minister of Science and Technology; Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Personnel Committee, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee; leaders of a number of central ministries and branches; leaders of the Committee of Propaganda and Education of the Party Committee, Standing Board of People's Council, City People's Committee; city departments.

Each issued policy is central to the business.

Opening his speech, Secretary of the City Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue said that Hanoi was the center of national politics and administration and became 5 major centers of culture, education - training, and science - technology, economics and international transactions. The meeting with the Party Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology will help the City Party Committee to comprehensively assess the status of scientific and technological development of the Capital, thereby clearly defining objectives, targets and tasks; finalize views and visions on this field in the draft Political Report at the 17th Party Congress of the City Party Committee. The Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee suggested that the leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology focus on exchanging and discussing on 6 main groups of issues in cooperation between the two units: Firstly, the mechanism of science and technology policies is groundbreaking suitable for the Capital. Secondly, coordinate to develop S&T potential. Thirdly, attract and train S&T human resources and knowledge so that S&T can become a breakthrough in the development of the Capital. Fourthly, improve the competitiveness of enterprises in the City. Fifth, the City looks forward to the coordination and support of the Ministry of Science and Technology as well as the relevant ministries and agencies in developing the S&T market and the innovative start-up ecosystem. Finally, cooperate to develop the Hoa Lac high tech park to become a national innovation research center. In addition, there are also cooperation in a number of other areas and OCOP key product development.

In particular, the ideas need to focus on helping the city synchronously deploy solutions for scientific and technological development so that every business must be a center of innovation, creativity and each issued policy considers business as the center.

The Secretary of the City Party Committee also asked the delegates to concentrate on helping the city to devise worthy remuneration policies to attract intellectuals, especially the domestic and foreign leading experts; building a network of initiatives and creativity in Hanoi, turning science and technology into one of the strategic breakthroughs in the Capital's socio-economic development.
