The IC Design Divison is the first important infrastructure of the IC Design Center, to implement the cooperation contents of SHTP and Synopsys Company.

Specifically, the Circuit Design Department - located at SHTP's Training Center - will provide Synopsys design software programs to universities and research institutes through a virtual private network (VPN); organize Train-the-Trainers (ToT) training courses on IC design for trainers; organize advanced training courses on IC design.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi, Head of SHTP Management Board, said that the IC Design Division was built entirely on socialization resources, demonstrating SHTP's commitment to contributing to taking advantage of open opportunities for Vietnam in participating in the global value chain of the semiconductor chip industry.

In the coming time, SHTP will continue to improve the infrastructure of SCDC, to deploy services, such as providing licenses to use IC design software to schools and institutes; implementing ToT training courses on IC design for lecturers of schools and institutes; connect with chip manufacturing companies to support research groups, start-ups at low cost; provide the technical infrastructure to support packaging and testing of ICs; and implementation of international cooperation programs.

Previously, on August 26, 2022, SHTP and Synopsys Company signed a cooperation agreement to train human resources in the field of IC design, in order to meet the increasing demand for human resources in the field. Under the cooperation agreement, Synopsys sponsors SHTP 30 licenses to use Synopsys IC design software and supports the formation of SCDC.
