Attending the workshop, there were leaders of a number of units under the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Central Vietnam Farmers' Union; Representatives of leaders of a number of Departments of Science and Technology and representatives of Farmers' Associations of more than 20 provinces and cities nationwide.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers Association Bui Thi Thom affirmed: Science and technology always has a very important position and role in the development of the country, including the development of agriculture and farmers, especially in the current period of industrialization, modernization of agriculture and rural areas and international integration.

Through the program of cooperation between the Vietnam Farmers' Union and the Ministry of Science and Technology, it has promoted and further improved the effectiveness of information activities, propaganda, and mobilized members and farmers nationwide to actively apply the best practices. Ministry of Science and Technology to improve the efficiency of production, business and service activities, develop the family economy, and the collective economy, contributing to the implementation of "Development of concentrated, large-scale and modern commodity agriculture, applying new technologies, high added value; restructuring agriculture, developing rural economy in association with building new countryside, towards ecological agriculture model, modern rural areas, cultural farmers "in the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress.

At the Workshop, delegates exchanged, discussed, and evaluated the achieved results, limitations and proposed solutions for the Vietnam Farmers' Association and the Ministry of Science and Technology to coordinate more effectively during next time. Most opinions highly appreciated the proposed contents and activities of the Coordination Program as practical, appropriate and timely to meet the needs of science and technology in agricultural production, rural economic development and building a new rural area today for members of farmers.

Speaking at the conclusion of the workshop, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Hoang Giang affirmed that agriculture, farmers and rural areas play an important role, especially in difficult periods of the country. At the same time, science and technology is also an important factor in the policies and guidelines of the Party and State and has received more attention in recent times with the signing of a program of cooperation between the Vietnam Farmers' Union and the Ministry of Science and Technology for the period of 2021-2025.
