The Department of Plant Protection (VPD) said that it recently received a notice from the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) about the discovery of a number of shipments contaminated with plant quarantine objects on bananas, mangoes, Vietnam's jackfruit, durian and dragon fruit are exported to the Chinese market. Failure to effectively control plant quarantine objects from the growing area and packaging facility leads to shipments that do not meet Chinese regulations and discredits goods exported from Vietnam, even at the risk of losing this important export market.
The Department of Plant Protection requested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dak Lak province to direct the local specialized plant protection and quarantine agency to notify and guide the owners of violating growing area codes and packaging facilities to conduct an investigation of violations causes and implementation of corrective measures. Make a report and send it to the Plant Protection Department before September 20, 2023 so that the Plant Protection Department can inform GACC according to regulations. |
