On June 26, 2024, Hai Phong City Department of Science and Technology organized a traditional meeting to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Department's founding (June 26, 1959-June 26, 2024). In his opening speech, Director of Hai Phong City Department of Science and Technology Tran Quang Tuan reviewed the tradition, formation and development process of the Department of Science and Technology since its establishment until now. Over the past 65 years, from the previous Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Science and Technology today has always done a good job of advising and helping the City Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of the City lead and direct the City's science and technology activities.

With the results achieved, over the past 65 years, the collective of officials, civil servants and employees of the Department of Science and Technology of Hai Phong City has been recognized and awarded by the Party, State and Hai Phong City: 2 Independence Medals (Second and Third Class), many Labor Medals, many Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, Ministry of Science and Technology, Hai Phong City People's Committee.

At the Conference, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Hoang Giang said that Hai Phong needs to build breakthrough mechanisms and policies on science, technology and innovation so that the city can truly become the center of science, technology and innovation of the North key economic region, becoming a strong pole of science, technology and innovation development of the whole country.
