Ninh Kieu District Women's Union has just organized the Ninh Kieu Women's Creative Start-up Festival in 2024. The festival attracted 12 stores displaying products of cooperatives and economics deveploment cooperative groups; Start-up products of members and women. At the start-up stores of An Khanh ward, Ms. Tran Thi Be Chinh, living in area 2, is busy selling dry goods to customers. Ms. Chinh shared: "Through practical research in the locality, I realized that the source of dried fish ingredients is very rich and used by many people in meals.
Therefore, in 2019, I decided to start a business selling dried fish of all kinds." According to Ms. Chinh, to help her start a business, the Ward and District Women's Union helped promote the product and supported preferential loans in the amount of 70 million VND. Therefore, she invested in buying freezers, vacuum cleaners, ingredients... At first, she only sold a few types of dried foods in small quantities, mainly to get acquainted with the market; So far, she has expanded and sold over 80 dry goods of all kinds and has a stable number of customers. On average, each month, Ms. Chinh earns 20-30 million VND from her dry business.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nga, Chairwoman of the Ninh Kieu District Women's Union, the district's women's startup movement has recently been vibrant and positive. Many members are creative, willing to learn and seek new directions in business. In the district, many models and vocational association groups are being maintained and operating well by all levels of the Association, such as models of growing ornamental flowers, making chiffon flowers, making beaded flowers, making blankets and pillows, knitting and crocheting, and shaping from clay.
