Standing Member of the National Assembly's Science, Technology and Environment Committee Nguyen Ngoc Son emphasized that science and technology continue to play a key role in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. It is estimated that science and technology have contributed over 35% to the success of agricultural production in Vietnam recently. Thanks to science and technology, the growth rate of the agricultural sector is always maintained at a high level, contributing to maintaining the overall growth rate of the country.

Currently, there are about 290 agricultural enterprises applying high technology, with 690 agricultural production areas, of which over 70% meet the criteria for agricultural areas applying high technology. There are nearly 2,000 cooperatives that are also applying high technology, bringing significant achievements.

One of the most important benefits of applying high technology in agriculture is improving productivity and production efficiency. Automation systems, smart sensors, artificial intelligence and data exploitation help farmers enhance management and control of the production process. These technologies ensure optimal use of resources and reduce waste, helping to improve productivity and product quality.

High technology also creates new opportunities to increase the added value of agricultural products. The application of technology in processing, preservation and transportation helps increase the shelf life and quality of agricultural products, while minimizing post-harvest losses. Technology also plays an important role in the development of high value-added products, such as organic agricultural products and high-tech products, helping to promote product diversification and enhance competition in the market.

The application of high technology in agriculture also helps affirm the position of Vietnamese agricultural products in the international market. High technology brings transparency and ensures product quality, helping to build consumer trust. Technologies, such as blockchain are used to record information about the origin, production process and quality of products, enhancing tracking and inspection of agricultural products, thereby creating trust and appreciating from consumers.
