At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology shared his experiences in building and implementing the Saigon Innovation Hub model at Science and Technology Advances Application with the aim of connecting components in the innovation startup ecosystem, followed by Ho Chi Minh City Innovation Startup Center, with 4 main roles including: providing facilities for the innovation startup community, spreading innovation startup policies, organizing innovation activities, and linking to support the development of small and medium enterprises. The Center is expected to become the core of the innovation startup ecosystem, aiming to become the leading innovation startup center in the region, contributing to the development of the innovation startup ecosystem in Vietnam and the region.

The two sides also exchanged and discussed a number of contents, such as connecting social resources for innovation startup ecosystem, promoting domestic and international cooperation in the field of innovation and startups, and enhancing communication of innovation and startup activities.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City is supporting a number of potential public science and technology organizations in the city to develop into international standard applied research and innovation centers, effectively contributing to the socio-economic development of the city; attracting and retaining experts, scientists, and talents to work at public science and technology organizations to tap all available resources of the city.

Specifically,  Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology  organized a Conference to deploy the Project "Building a promotion mechanism to form and develop international standard research centers" and "Guidelines for implementing Resolution No. 19/2023/NQ-HDND dated November 11, 2023 of the City People's Council "to public science and technology organizations in the City, as well as issued Plan No. 721/KH-SKHCN to implement the Project to build a promotion mechanism to form and develop international standard research centers.

Moreover, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology issued Plan No. 2007/KH-SKHCN to deploy scientific and technological tasks registered to participate in the implementation of the "Project to build a promotion mechanism to form and develop international standard research centers"; organized a Conference to disseminate regulations and rules related to the evaluation and selection of scientific and technological tasks registered to participate in the implementation of the Project.

Ho Chi Minh City also promoted the formation and development of creative startups from the application of science and technology, innovation and commercialization of scientific research results, promoting sustainable and strong development for the City's creative startup ecosystem on the basis of supporting innovation and innovation startup projects. Currently, there are 15 creative innovation and innovation startup projects in the pre-incubation, incubation and acceleration stages being supported.
