Mr. Nguyen Tran Quang, Deputy Director of Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center of Hanoi City, delivered the opening speech at the conference.
The conference was presided by Hanoi Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center (HPA), in coordination with the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA), the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park Management Board, and Polytechnic University.
Hanoi has great potential and opportunities to attract investment in the semiconductor sector.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, HPA Deputy Director Nguyen Tran Quang emphasized that semiconductor technology is the "lifeblood" of the digital economy and is the foundation technology of many current technological solutions.
In recent times, Vietnam has been attracting many large corporations in the semiconductor industry from the United States, Korea, Japan, European countries, and etc. to come and learn and invest.
Mr. Nguyen Tran Quang said that the Capital Law 2024 identifies semiconductors as a priority sector to attract strategic investors of the Capital. Strategic investors selected according to regulations in the semiconductor sector will enjoy many investment incentives policies of Hanoi.
With the goal of connecting, promoting investment, trade, and promoting the development of the semiconductor industry in Hanoi and the ecosystem of the semiconductor and high-tech industry, the Hanoi People's Committee directed and assigned the Hanoi Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to organize the Hanoi Semiconductor Technology Investment Connection Festival 2024.
The festival aims to provide information on the development situation, orientation and solutions to promote the development and cooperation of semiconductor technology enterprises in Hanoi in the coming time; opportunities and solutions to develop human resources in the semiconductor field in Hoa Lac High-Tech Park in particular and Hanoi in general. |
