Attending the conference, there were over 300 delegates representing state management agencies on radiation and nuclear safety at the central and local levels; representatives of organizations and individuals performing radiation work nationwide, organizations providing support services for atomic energy applications, and agencies and organizations with cooperation and support activities for state management on radiation and nuclear safety.

The conference was held to assess the current state management of radiation safety and nuclear security nationwide, creating a forum for managers, technical experts and facilities operating in the field of nuclear energy to exchange and share experiences, meeting the balance between the needs and benefits of radiation and nuclear applications in various fields and the requirements for ensuring radiation safety and nuclear security for sustainable development.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat said that, along with the activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Nuclear Safety, the Conference was organized to assess the current state management of nuclear safety in the period of 2022-2024, propose solutions, recommendations and orientations in the coming time. From the first Nuclear Regulation Conference in 2014, over the past 10 years, Nuclear Regulation Conferences have truly played the role of an important forum for management agencies, enterprises, and radiation facilities to summarize activities, share information and propose solutions towards the highest goal of ensuring safety, security, and application of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
