Over the past 20 years, more than 70% of the science and technology tasks deployed and accepted at the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Agricultural Park have been put into application, contributing to the creation of new plant varieties with high productivity and quality.

At the 20th anniversary celebration of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Agricultural Park (AHTP) in the morning of August 6, Dr. Pham Dinh Dung, Head of the AHTP Management Board, said that AHTP was established on August 6, 2004, covering an area of 88 hectares, in Pham Van Coi Commune, Cu Chi District. AHTP has the functions of scientific research, collection, conservation and testing of varieties, building and transferring high-tech agricultural models, producing varieties and providing high-quality seedlings and breeds, training and incubating innovative enterprises in the agricultural sector...

Over the past 20 years, AHTP has implemented 545 science and technology tasks at all levels. Of these, there are 30 science and technology tasks at provincial/municipal level, 494 science and technology tasks at grassroots level, 21 science and technology tasks under the Program on plant varieties, livestock and high-tech agriculture; the application rate of science and technology tasks after acceptance reaches over 70%.

Specifically, SHTP units have maintained the collection and conservation of genetic resources with about 800 seed sources (including 30 species of ornamental fish, 20 species of medicinal plants, 25 species of flowers and ornamental plants of all kinds, 80 species of orchids, more than 650 species of effective microorganisms, edible mushrooms, medicinal mushrooms, and micro-fungi), serving the research and breeding of next generation varieties with an average yield of 30-35% higher than the market.

From the research results, every year, AHTP units have provided the market with 1-3 million seedlings including orchids, fruit vegetables and 100 kg of F1 hybrid seeds of leafy vegetables and fruit vegetables. The unit provides more than 2.7 million tissue cultured and post-tissue cultured orchids, such as Ngoc Diem, Dendrobium, Mokara, Hoang Hau, Cat Cat, Phalaenopsis, Dendrobium, etc.
