Within the framework of the APEC Forum, on August 12, the delegation of the National Committee for Standards, Metrology and Quality represented Vietnam to attend a Workshop on “Emerging Technologies for Digitalization, Digitalization Process and International Regulatory Cooperation” held at the Lima Convention Center, Peru.

For a long time, digitalization has brought values, such as increasing the ability to seize opportunities, increasing productivity, saving costs, processing information and data easily, high security, increasing the ability to store information, restore data, being environmentally friendly, reducing carbon emissions and preparing for digital transformation, and etc.

More than just a trend, digitalization has become an important part of everyday life. This change has brought many benefits in terms of optimizing performance, saving time and resources, as well as creating new ways of communication and connection. Digitalization continues to grow and may change life even more in the future. Thus, digitalization is not only an aspect of modern life but also an important key to development and progress.

With the aim of developing emerging technologies and international legal cooperation for digitalization, the Workshop “Emerging Technologies for Digitalization, Process Digitalization and International Regulatory Cooperation” focuses on important contents, such as using AI to convert paper documents; Securing digital documents and accompanying data in the conformity assessment process; Cloud computing and its international applicability…

The workshop was divided into four discussion sessions. Specifically, in the first discussion session on using AI to convert paper documents, it was seen that the use of AI has greatly reduced text errors, and can also translate documents into different languages to reduce administrative burdens and verify compliance with regulations as well as product conformity assessment/testing requirements.
