Instructions for establishing intellectual property rights and skills for exploiting industrial property information

In order to improve the knowledge of organizations and individuals about the role and importance of registering for protection and developing intellectual property in production and business activities; Guide the procedures for registering for intellectual property protection according to new regulations; Access to policies to support the development of intellectual property of the city. Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology organized a training course on "Guidelines for establishing intellectual property rights and skills to exploit industrial property information" in the morning of September 6, 2024, at TTC Hotel, No. 02, Hai Ba Trung Street, Tan An Ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City.

Attending the training course, there were Mr. Ngo Anh Tin - Member of the City Party Committee, Director of Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology, representatives of departments, branches, institutes, schools, associations, unions, hospitals, intellectual property representative services, OCOP subjects, enterprises and a number of other related organizations and individuals.
The training course took place with the following contents: Overview of intellectual property; Vietnamese and international legal system on intellectual property; Introduction to the process of registering for protection of industrial property rights and some supporting contents in the field of science and technology; Instructions on registering for protection of intellectual property and exploiting industrial property information (According to the provisions of the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Intellectual Property in 2022 and new guiding documents (Decrees and Circulars taking effect from 2023 and 2024).
In his opening speech, Mr. Ngo Anh Tin - Member of the City Party Committee, Director of Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology said that in the context of economic integration, Vietnamese enterprises need to differentiate their products to improve their competitiveness. Applying intellectual property rights (IP) to intellectual assets helps enterprises protect their innovation achievements, reduce risks when introducing new products, and increase their reputation in the market. In recent times, the Department of Science and Technology has supported all entities to raise awareness of IP through training, propaganda and support for IP registration. Thereby, it has improved knowledge about the importance of IP in production and business and provided guidance on IP registration procedures. Therefore, IP is not only a legal task but also an important business strategy, promoting innovation and socio-economic development of the locality.
