Soc Trang: Focusing resources on developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation
At the scientific workshop on implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, held in Soc Trang province, key solutions to increase the investment rate for science, technology and innovation (STI) were proposed.

Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Soc Trang, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Duy, reported on the increase in investment budget for science and technology in recent years and said that scientific research activities have been gradually innovated, closely linked with production and life. Although many positive results have been achieved, the province still faces many difficulties in investing in research and development due to limited budget, cumbersome administrative procedures and an underdeveloped technology market.
Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Soc Trang province, Ms. Ho Thi Cam Dao, emphasized the goal of bringing the economic scale to at least 30% of GRDP by 2030 and affirmed that the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation will be important pillars for this development. She said the province will focus on increasing the budget for science and technology by 3%, developing high-quality human resources and encouraging scientists and experts to work locally. At the same time, the province will promote the application of technical advances in production and propose science and technology tasks suitable to the province's potential, especially in the fields of agriculture, renewable energy, marine economy and tourism.
Soc Trang province also plans to enhance domestic and international cooperation to attract resources for scientific research and innovation. Activities, such as connecting technology supply and demand, developing science and technology enterprises, and building a modern technology infrastructure system will be prioritized. In addition, the province will support people to raise awareness of information technology and online public services, contributing to local socio-economic development. The implementation of these solutions will create a strong innovation ecosystem, promote sustainable development and improve the quality of life for people.
