Agriculture breakthrough from private economy
Vietnam's agricultural sector is facing many challenges due to climate change, changing consumption trends and fluctuations in domestic and foreign markets.

To develop breakthroughs in this context, the role of private enterprises is becoming increasingly important in forming value chains, investing in technology, deep processing and promoting green agriculture, while expanding the global market. In that context, Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW dated May 4, 2025 of the Politburo affirmed that the private economy is the most important driving force of the national economy, and at the same time set out tasks and solutions to promote the rapid, strong and sustainable development of this sector in the coming time.

In the field of aquaculture, a typical example is Minh Phu Seafood Corporation, one of the leading enterprises in Vietnam, which has focused on completing a closed value chain from breeding, farming, processing to exporting. The company plans to implement concentrated farming projects with modern infrastructure, including the application of artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain technology and mobile applications to comprehensively manage the shrimp farming process. In the field of seafood exports alone, in the first 5 months of 2025, the turnover reached 4.11 billion USD, an increase of 15.1% over the same period last year, contributing to the target of 11 billion USD for the whole year. The export market is also constantly expanding when enterprises such as Sao Ta exported more than 46 million USD in the first quarter of 2025 and are targeting new markets such as Canada, Australia, Korea, Japan, as well as monitoring the Chinese market to exploit great potential.

In addition, the rice industry has also made a strong transformation, with exports reaching a record of 9.18 million tons and a turnover of 5.75 billion USD in 2024. Private enterprises play a leading role in rice production and consumption, typically Trung An High-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company, which has exported a batch of rice branded "Low-emission Green Vietnamese Rice" to Japan - an important step in conquering the low-emission rice segment, meeting the global consumption trend of sustainable food. At the same time, Resolution No. 68 also encourages the development of green credit sources, creating conditions for businesses to access long-term, preferential financial packages, thereby promoting circular, high-tech agricultural models and linkages between businesses, farmers and cooperatives. Pioneering enterprises in this field, such as TTC AgriS or Phuc Sinh, have expressed their desire for stronger support policies to build production and processing plants, in order to create a sustainable agricultural ecosystem, bringing long-term benefits to the local economy and community.
