Vocational training linked to digital farmers
Many localities in the western part of Lam Dong province have actively improved the production and business techniques and skills of farmers to promote rural economy and build new rural areas.

Building a digital farmer

In Nhan Co commune, the rate of trained and employed workers has reached nearly 75%, exceeding the target set by the commune's Party Committee resolution by almost 15% by the end of 2025. According to the leaders of the Nhan Co Commune People's Committee, improving the capacity and technical skills of rural workers is always a priority for the locality. The locality is focusing on objectives and tasks related to vocational training and equipping workers with digital knowledge associated with building a digital farmer. Along with this, training and developing skills for career chuyển đổi (non-agricultural) aims to shift the labor structure, increase income, and promote sustainable rural economic development by 2030.

According to the Nhan Co Commune Farmers' Association, in 2025 and 2026, the association will promote digital transformation in agriculture, building a "Digital Farmer" model to help workers access technology, e-commerce, and modern production management. The association has organized 9 training courses on science and technology for 498 members; and collaborated in organizing a model of raising cattle using fermented passion fruit peel. The Nhan Co Commune Farmers' Association has also sent 10 exemplary farmers to participate in training on traceable planting area codes and to promote OCOP products and local agricultural products.

According to Mr. Nguyen Viet Cuong, from Hamlet 14, Nhan Co Commune, thanks to participating in many training courses, he has accessed and applied many technological advancements, bringing about significant results in improving productivity and quality, as well as promoting and affirming the reputation of his durian products. As a result, his family's durian products have successfully passed numerous inspections by partners, enabling export. Currently, he effectively manages many aspects of his orchard, from input to output, using his smartphone.

Associated with the new rural development program.

In Quang Son commune, over 500 workers were provided with jobs and vocational training in 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, achieving 100% of the set plan. According to the leaders of the Quang Son Commune People's Committee, the locality is currently paying more attention to and prioritizing laborers from ethnic minority areas. The commune's goal is to promote the development of soft skills and critical thinking, encourage self-learning, improve educational levels, equip workers with market knowledge and the ability to adapt to new economic demands, and support individual households and groups of households with similar interests and farming practices. This aims to build more sustainable agricultural and service cooperatives, and large-scale production and commodity zones.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the attention given by localities to training and creating jobs for rural laborers is implementing component 4 on human resource development and sustainable employment support in the construction of new rural areas. These contents aim to meet the requirements of criterion group 3 on rural economic development and criterion group 4 on rural human resource training.

In particular, the province focuses on the major requirements of equitable and inclusive access to education and lifelong learning for people in rural areas, ethnic minority regions, mountainous areas, security zones, border areas, and islands. Improving capacity not only helps rural workers adapt to the new era but is also key to developing modern and sustainable rural areas.
