Within the framework of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization's (UNIDO) Network and Center for Climate Technology (CTCN), on August 31, 2017 in Can Tho City, it took place summary project workshop of "Reducing and increasing the value of waste in the low-carbon rice production sector." The workshop was organized by the Netherlands Development Organization and Vietnam Cleaner Production Center.

Thu Thua Watermelon (Long An) is quite famous for its sweetness and beautiful fruit form. The majorities of melon growing farmers have a lot of experiences and have applied some technical advances in production such as using agricultural mulch, microbial organic fertilizers and bio-products.

A group of Grade 11 students of An Lac Thon High School (Soc Trang) has invented biological pesticide products from chamomile, fish killing plants, which kills up to 90% of vegetable pests.

Purple sweet potato was grown in our country, especially in Mekong delta region. Purple sweet potato contains many nutrients, starch content and reducing high sugar.

Spiced dry snakehead fish is one of the famous special products of Mekong Delta, traditional dry fish processing is popular in this delta, the raw fish is cleaned, doesn’t remove bone. The products are salted and spiced (sugar, flour, chili), dried, packaged and consumed.

In order to actively respond to climate change and rising sea level, taking and exploiting advantages of marine resources to accelerate regional economic - social development speed, Ministry of Technology and Technology assigned Southern Irrigation Science Research Institute to implement this project.

Research was implemented by lead author Nguyen Manh Son and Pham Bao Duong to analyze the factors affecting the land consolidation in the rural areas.
