On August 8, 2024, Science and Technology Information and Statistics Center (CESTI, under the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City) organized a workshop on "Biotechnology for plant breeding". The workshop aimed to report and analyze trends in applying biotechnology in selecting and breeding plant varieties, combined with sharing some experiences and solutions from scientists, with the ability to deploy applications in agricultural production activities, helping managers and businesses have more information about trends in research and application of biotechnology at home and abroad to select and breed plant varieties.
In the morning of August 9, 2024, Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology held a meeting of the Council for acceptance of the city-level science and technology task on a project "Application of biotechnology to select and create high-yield, high-quality cucumber, bitter melon, and green bean varieties for Can Tho City."
The Australian Government and the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology recently announced funding for three advanced agricultural technology projects, through the Innovation Partnership Grants component of the Australia-Vietnam Innovation Partnership (Aus4Innovation) program. On March 14-15, 2024, Tay Ninh Agricultural Extension Center organized a trip to study new agricultural models and apply high technology in production in Lam Dong province.
