Objects research are the medical records from 01/01/2007 to 31/12/2009 STM patients is indicated in the Department of Renal urinary TPPM, Bach Mai hospital.
The team focused on the research content, such as changes in the number of patients in the period 2007-20009; characterized group of patients studied; cause of kidney failure; distribution of patients according to degree of renal failure ; the common complications; cause of death and the effect of Hb concentration at the start of treatment to the patient's survival.
Through research shows that the number of patients with chronic renal failure is indicated TPPM increased continuously: 86 patients (2007), 157 patients (2008) and 199 patients (2009). Patients with an average age of 47.3 ± 14.6, average weight 55.9 ± 5.3 kg and the percentage of male / female 102/119. TPPM 70.14% of patients with chronic kidney disease stage IV and causes of renal failure is mainly due to chronic glomerulonephritis (75.1%). 116 cases of patients hospitalized due to complications and complications is peritonitis (50%). Number of died patients is 40, the cause of death was cardiovascular (25%), malnutrition (20%) and stroke (17.5%). Low initial hemoglobin concentration increases the risk of death.
