Electrical Michelangelo hand to handicapped
Chris Taylor, 58, is the first person in the UK to be fitted with the“Michelangelo hand”.


A man who lost his hand in a freak accident in 2009 is able to use electrical Michelangelo hand. It is attached to a socket with electrodes that detect muscle movement in his right arm. The electronic signals are then read by a piece of software, which controls the hand and allows him to move the fingers and thumb.

New technology allows Mr. Taylor grasp and hold objects with different sizes as well as perform basic operations such as connecting buttons or even complete some complex work related to the engineering professionhis mechanical engineers. It can be used for 20 hours at a time, after which it has to be charged for four hours.
