Designed for urban gardeners, the self-watering Patch Planter requires no pumps, plugs or cords—and instead relies upon sub-irrigation to keep the plant’s roots moist.

Each Patch, which can be folded flat for transport, can hold .9 gallons of soil and .4 gallons of water. A perforated shelf separates the growing medium from the water, and a cylinder in the corner of the Planter allows the reservoir to be refilled as needed. Though water does need to be added to the Patch reservoir manually, the developers claim that the wicking action helps to prevent over- or under-watering. |
