Transplanting cucumber

Tam Binh Plant Protection Station (Vinh Long Province) has launched a pilot model which allowed them to transplant cucumbers with gourds, luffa fruits, and other creeper plants. It promises to offer high income for farmers and can extend this model in the region.

The model was implemented in three households in Binh Quy Hamlet (Ngai Tu Commune) with an area of 3,000 square meters; farmers were well-trained, and supported seeding to conduct this model.
The model has some outstanding properties in comparison with current method, for example: cucumbers are less wilted, longer harvest time, well-looking fruits, brittle fruit pulp, estimated productivity 1.5 ton/1,000 square meters, higher 300-500 kg compared to model without transplantation.
The model had technical supports from associate professor, Dr. Tran Thi Ba, Faculty of Agriculture & Biological Application (Can Tho University). |
