Quang Ninh forum faces environmental challenges and climate change

Attending the forum, there were Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Thai Lai, Deputy Chairman of Quang Ninh People’s Committee Dang Huy Hau; Deputy Director of Natural Resource and Environment Nguyen The Dong, and the representative leaders of central and local agencies.

The forum conducted two discussion sessions

The first discussion session, Quang Ninh faces environmental challenges and climate change, green growth with many issues, such as the development polices of green economy and environmental protection in Vietnam; The action orientations of  resources and environment sector in order to implement the national strategy on green growth; International assistance for Vietnam toward the carbon credit business market; The history of the test process towards green growth of Japan; Energy-saving in the lighting industry and civil.

The second session discussed the environmental protection Law 2014, introduced new articles of environmental protection Law 2014 (amendment), and shared shift solutions from "Brown" to "green" of businesses as well as locality and environmental propaganda issues, sustainable development for entrepreneurs.

Also at the forum, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Thai Lai stressed the harmful effects of climate change creates challenges of environmental degradation causing damage to economic and social development of our country. He also particularly stressed on national action plans on green growth has been approved by Prime Minister; as well as the green growth strategy of the Vietnam period 2011-2020, visions to 2050 focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, greening production and consumer.
