Attending the event there were leaders of the Party, State, Government and reputable scientists represented fields of engineering, nature, society and humanities, agriculture and medicine.

The meeting aimed to recognize, praise the contribution of young talents with the development of the country in general and science and technology in particular. The Ministry expects to motivate the scientific community continue to promote the indulgence, creativity, put science and technology into production, improve quality and productivity, efficiency and competitiveness of the economy and homeland protection. This is an opportunity for the Government to listen to the idea, the desire of the scientists.

According to Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Quan, the last years, Vietnam achieved achievements with very important contribution of young scientists. The young scientists were assigned the major scientific works, created valuable products with high technological content, brought practical effect on economy – society, many works won foreign prestigious awards.

However, the young scientists in Vietnam are still difficult; outdated research equipment, limited budget, salary regime does not ensure their life to be able to concentrate on scientific research and etc. Besides, some good scientist completed master, doctor program in the foreign country they did not return home.
