Da Nang agreement poses ambitious goals
Ministers and Heads of Delegation of countries affirmed, the goals posed in Da Nang agreement are ambitious and will have to overcome many challenges to achieve.

In the afternoon of November 20, ending Forum of Ministers of the East Asian Sea, Ministers and Heads of the country delegations signed, approved Danang agreement with important objectives for the next 5 years.

The Agreement approved the marine strategy and the coast region has been updated. This updated Strategy emphasizes the importance of coping with climate change, including the reduction of greenhouse gases, concurrently adapting and mitigating the social, economic and ecological impacts due to severe weather, natural disasters caused by man.

Danang agreement posed four objectives for each country to achieve progress in the next 5 years, namely: By 2017, the Regional Partnership Program in the environmental management of the seas of East Asia (PEMSEA ) will become a self-sustaining organization that manages and coordinates resources, results, services and financial mechanisms to promote implementation of the strategy for sustainable development of the seas of East Asia (SDS- SEA), at the regional, national and local level.

By 2018, there is a regional report system on ocean and coastal monitoring service progress, impacts, benefits and will continue to improve the planning and management of SDS-SEA implementation.

By 2021, based on the best scientific information, will build and deploy the maritime policy and national coasts, supporting legislation, compiling institution in 100% of PEMSEA partner Countries that are consistent with the international environmental sustainability development commitment to developing, and etc.
