Mr. Pham Hong Quat, director of the Department for Enterprise and Market Development, Ministry of Science and Technology, said that in Vietnam, the innovation startup ecosystem is developing strongly with about 3,000 enterprises, nearly doubled compared to 2015. Vietnam has about 30 incubators and 10 business promotion organizations to help build some successful businesses. International organizations also supported the development of the innovation startup ecosystem. Ministries, sectors and localities also had active activities to support the innovation startup ecosystem.

However, in the Mekong Delta, the number of success startup is not much. Through the practical support for innovation startup ecosystem in Can Tho city, Mr. Vien Tuan Thanh - Director of Can Tho Center for Student Development and Support (CADS) - said: "Difficulties in operation are enterprises and Youths who are not aware of the concept and distinguish between small and medium enterprises. The role of the Can Tho innovation ecosystems structure has not been fully promoted due to the many constraints in which the support policy has been planned but there is no a specific guidance. There are not many investment funds, individual investors who understand about startup."

At the workshop, delegates listened to some enterprises to share experiences in order to succeed; and a plan to support the development of the innovation startup ecosystem of the Can Tho city in 2018, especially the training of knowledge and skills for investors, managers and startup groups; Support to strengthen facilities and techniques for organizations and incubators; Establishing and developing the network of innovation startup ecosystem in the area.

On this occasion, Can Tho City Science and Technology Information Center (Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology) signed a cooperation agreement with the concerned units in the support and training of innovation startup ecosystem, such as Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, Can Tho City Business Association, VSVA, CADS and Can Tho Youth Union.
