With the development of start-up activities, the innovative startup ecosystem is gradually forming with the following basic components, such as system of institutes, schools (over 16 institutes, schools ); start-up organizations (1 incubator and 1incubator center).

The city has abundant human resources in terms of number and variety of occupations (more than 80,900 students of college, university students, and post graduation) and enterprises (more than 6,900 enterprises and 78,100 individual economic establishments in Can Tho City. Through basic assessment, Can Tho's innovation startup ecosystem is only in its new stage of development and has not been fully integrated with key components and experiences, knowledge, skills on innovation startup ecosystem.

In order to contribute to the development of innovation startup ecosystem improvement, the City People's Committee issued the Plan No. 175 / KH-UBND (12- 12-2017) on supporting the development of innovative startup eco-system of Can Tho city up to 2020, orientation to 2025.

The workshop is also an opportunity for organizations and individuals to pay close attention to the innovation startup ecosystem, innovation startup ecosystem timely catches up on activities to support the development of the city's innovation startup ecosystem and assists stakeholders in the innovation startup system to share the advantages, disadvantages and experiences in implementing activities of innovation startup ecosystem. This will help the city have appropriate policies and supports to help the innovation startup ecosystem of Can Tho city improve and create a solid foundation for the innovation startup ecosystem activities, contributing to the economic – socio development of the city.
