Attending the workshop, there were representatives from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the World Bank in Vietnam, representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, universities, businesses, DFAT of Australia, and etc.
Construction of the Vietnam Science and Technology and Innovation Report until 2035
In the recent years, Vietnam's economy has continuously achieved strong growth, especially in 2017, GDP growth reached 6.81%, the highest in 10 past years. Vietnam's competitive capacity increased 5 steps (ranked 55th of 137 countries), innovation index increased 12 steps, the national credit rating was from stable to positive, the Vietnamese currency was the most stable in Asia, the index of sustainable development of Vietnam increased 20 steps.
These results are due to the efforts of the Government of Viet Nam in transforming the economic growth model from the breadth to the new model based on the improvement of labor productivity with the application of advanced achievements of science & technology. S & T has created and maintained in-depth production capacities, enhanced competitiveness, fostered cooperation in innovation, linked economic sectors, established regional value chains, to global supply chains, improve efficiency in mobilizing, allocating and using capital, promoting the role of labor factor in economic growth in depth, etc. |
