This information was shared at the preliminary conference on the management of quality of agricultural materials, agro-forestry -fishery food safety in the first half of the year and the plan for the last 6 months of 2018, organized by the Department of Agricultural Quality, Forestry and Fisheries Management (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development - MARD).

According to Mr. Pham Tien Dung - Head of specialized Inspection I (Inspection of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), in the first 6 months of 2018, the General Department, specialized departments of the Ministry has directed the system and local agencies promote the work supervise, inspection and handling violations in order to bring efficiency.

Accordingly, the Inspection of MARD has checked 140 establishments, discovered and sanctioned 102 establishments violating the quality of agricultural materials (accounting for 72.8%) with the total amount of fines over 1.8 billion VND. Provinces and cities inspected 14,259 planned and unscheduled establishments, found and fined 1,021 establishments violating the quality of agricultural materials (accounting for 7.1%) with the amount of 7.19 billion VND.

However, the proportion of aquaculture samples violating antibiotic criteria increased over the same period in 2017. There are 19 / 1,123 violation samples, accounting for 1.69%, while the first half of 2017 was 0.58%.
