In the morning of 3/5, the Ministry of Health said that Vietnam had 17 consecutive days without new cases being reported in the community, along with information about VABIOTECH's company testing the anti-Covid-19 vaccine on mice.

Dr. Do Tuan Dat, President of VABIOTECH, said: “Right from the time Vietnam had the first Covid-19 cases, the company's scientists cooperated with Bristol University (UK) to study The SARS-CoV-2 vaccine is based on viral vector technology. The study was successful in creating a strain carrying this specific antigen region.”

The mechanism that helps the body prevent disease, is the use of nCoV antigen that is included in the vaccine component injected into the body, from which the body will produce active antibodies against SARS-CoV-2. This is an important ingredient in the production of vaccines to prevent pandemics.

After successfully recruiting the Covid-19 vaccine at a laboratory scale, the company's scientists injected it into mice and monitored it to evaluate the antibody's ability to produce antibodies against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

The monitoring process takes several weeks, the results collected with blood samples of mice will be sent to the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology to evaluate the ability to produce immunity (antibodies) against nCoV.

Dr Dat said that after this period, the vaccine for Covid-19 will continue to be studied to develop a process of production and injection of animal testing to further assess the safety and immunogenicity of this vaccine. Further, the potential of this technology will be determined in the development of vaccines for human use.
